Nothing says “On the Street” like graffiti. Living in NYC I am always coming across some amazing street typography. For this title design I wanted a gritty feel.
For this title design I was going for a more retro look, thinking of the initial days of street typography from the late 70’s.
I love the 80’s, and I wanted a design that screams that era, but still maintaining the “street” look. The combination of the angle of the type, the thin brushy script, and neon pink effectively screamed late 80’s.
Not everything of the late 80’s and early 90’s was flashy script, grungy, or loud. This blocky type along with the offset and the lightning bolt accents was a nice compromise while maintaining a 90’s street aesthetic.
